Healing Herbs
Herbs have been around longer than man. They are derived usually from the leaves of certain plant, but cut can include other plant parts like stalks, flowers, fruits, peels and roots. Quite often different parts of the same plant can be used for separate healing methods. Here are some of the ways you can introduce herbs to your everyday life:
Herbal Teas: Steeped in near boiling water, fresh or dried herbs are a wonderful source of refreshing teas. Herbs can be mixed for flavor and a combined healing properties. Some of the commonly used ones are Chamomile for relaxation. Mint for digestive disorders, and can be used for motion sickness. Fennel has an aniseed flavor and is used for abdominal relaxation.
Application: Herbs can crushed and combined with other ingredients to apply directly to the problem areas. Some leaves are wilted in boiling water and applied to problem areas, or the liquid can be applied. The oils or juices are also applied as with the Aloe Vera gel. Skin rashes, burns, sores, muscular complaints can all be greatly alleviated by herbal application.
Inhaling: Herbs can be a big part of Aromatherapy and also good for helping breathing difficulties associated with flu’s and colds , asthma, and for headache relief. Mint, Aniseed, Citrus, and other strong smelling herb can be inhaled in steam from boiling water or crushed to release the oils.
It is believed that nature produces a cure for every disease in the world, we just need to discover where it is.
