Snail Serum Skin Care
By: Judy Aulin
There now exist, all natural skin care products based upon a serum produced by a living creature which regenerate its own skin. I am talking about the lowly snail! But before I expand on the revolutionary effects this ingredient has for the skin, please suspend your disbeliefs about the use of such an ingredient. Many people have an immediate negative reaction to the idea of using natural materials from “slimy creatures” such as the snail… o here are some better known natural examples of useful insects and other species that people are more familiar with.
Everyone can appreciate the beauty of a pearl. And while many gourmets today find appealing, the oyster within the shell, the majority of people, at first glance, did not find it terribly attractive. On the other hand, the product of the pearl that it creates has been adorned by humans for thousands of years. During the last century, oyster farms have been created to harvest this rich and beautiful specimen of nature.
Adding to the gifts of nature, silkworms produce fabrics of the most luxurious and beautiful quality. For a significant period of history, the silkworm was viewed as a repugnant creature not worth a second glance. Then the Chinese discovered what silkworms were capable of – producing silk to make silk garments, and suddenly this insect was not viewed as simply a sluggish, slithering being, but as a national treasure. It is, after all, still a worm, but we now humbly credit them for the impressive contributions they can make to our lives.
Finally, the ancient Egyptians were the first to domesticate another now well-appreciated creature, the honey bee. We can all agree this naturally produced product is of great benefit for us.
These examples show that one can overcome any initial aversion to natural solutions made by one of Mother Nature’s creatures. In the same spirit as these time revered practices let’s look at the snail. With the special and humane care of tiny snails, comes the secret to beautiful skin.
These little creatures are the only ones in nature with a skin that is incredibly similar to our own human skin. They, however, have evolved to protect that skin naturally. When these creatures are raised and cared for properly, and a careful, precise extraction process is used to isolate the snail serum, these snails can share their advantage with the world!
Snail Serum Properties
Snail serum is derived from the common brown snail. It contains a powerful glycoconjugates compound that helps the skin adapt to external factors such as sun damage and pollution. This allows your skin to function at a more efficient level where it can ward off infection and injury.
Snail serum is a powerful antioxidant that can also help promote the proliferation of fibroblasts. It can also encourage the healing process by helping the body replace damaged skin tissue with healthy skin cells.
Exactly why is there so much time and effort put into this extraction process? Because the snail serum these particular mollusks create as natural skin products (snail cream) for themselves are impossible to replicate even in the most innovative biochemical laboratory on Earth.
The land snail travels its whole life on nude skin being fully exposed to the sun and the elements of the Earth it has to cross over. Evolution has forced it to produce a substance – snail serum – to protect and rejuvenate its skin!
You may have stumbled upon it in your backyard, if you live in those parts of the world with Mediterranean weather. Per chance you noticed that the skin of a snail is made of the same components as that of human skin: collagen and elastin. It is known by scientists as the mollusk of the species Cryptomphalus Aspersa Phylum, and also as the humble brown garden snail that is common in vineyards and fruit orchards.
So from the slow snail comes a sensational snail serum skin care source!
