Women as child giving and rearing persons are among the subjects where tests are usually geared to because if side effects do occur, they may be endangering not only their health, but also their offspring’s well-being.

These studies are usually made when a drug or herb becomes very popular to know for certain whether there is a tinge of truth to the beneficial claims made, and also, to see if they are of no danger to the human body. With the Rosea Rhodiola being popular nowadays because they provide many health benefits, like to the central nervous system and the increase in our body’s natural defenses, many people are now taking it as a supplement, especially women.

Women are more likely than men to be conscious about their health, so they are a bigger market for those who distribute health products and supplements. So, it would be best to know what dangers are posed to women by these products. Here are some known side effects that women may experience when taking Rosea Rhodiola, men are susceptible to some of it too. Rosea Rhodiola is known to be a stimulant. So a body may develop higher blood pressure or an elevated heart rate as a reaction to the stimuli. Also, extreme stimulation due to the high dosage can lead to insomnia. And when the effect of the Rosea Rhodiola has died down, a person may feel a sudden crash in her adrenaline and have excessive exhaustion. You may already have experienced these if you drink too much caffeine. The problem with stimulants is that it can be addictive. The timulation can be taken as a high and some people would continually seek this high.

Experts do agree that women should not take Rosea Rhodiola when pregnant or breastfeeding. There are no complete studies that have shown that there is a negative effect on an unborn child or an infant, but this is still dangerous as the toxicity, even at minute scales, can be transferred to the baby through the milk or the umbilical cord. Rosea Rhodiola can also contraindicate with other drugs that an expectant mother may be taking as prescribed by her doctor.

In most of these cases, the danger comes from taking high dosages. It is not advisable for anyone to drastically increase their Rosea Rhodiola intake. It is better to gradually increase this as per the recommendation of your doctor or herbalist.
