Ready To Get New Invisalign Braces?

Invisalign Braces

Invisalign braces are invisible trays that are placed over your teeth for a time period, set by your dentist to adjust your bite and smile. It can be done for mild cases of tooth straightening that require usually a year of treatment. More complex cases will need the traditional orthodontic braces (that can be done in clear now as well). Also more complex cases may take much more work, than what Invisalign can provide.

You will need to see a licensed Invisalign provider who will take x-rays and dental impressions of your teeth. They will then make a determination of your needs. If you are a candidate for Invisalign, you will be given a treatment plan with prices and also dates of how often you will replace your trays.

Yes, you replace the trays periodically, since they are made on a short term basis to get from a point a to b, then to c and so on. On traditional braces, you would do adjustments to the braces to progress. On Invisalign, there is no adjustments, just a new “tray”.

Invisalign has patients wear clear trays usually 20 to 22 hours per day to align your teeth properly. You will see your dentist for check ups, around every 6 weeks, to see how the process is coming. You will get new alignment trays around every two weeks to replace the ones you are wearing. Your teeth are constantly moving with this treatment to get into their correct alignment.

This is also a great option for patients that do not want traditional braces or are afraid of any dental pain. You will not have pain with this process. There are no needles. The Invisalign braces may be slightly uncomfortable at first. However, when you get used to them in your mouth, and the gentle pressure, it will seem second nature in no time.

Invisalign is now comparable in price to traditional braces if not more affordable. You will always want to verify your dentist is authorized to do Invisalign and have proper certificates. Many people still prefer to see an orthodontist for Invisalign braces over their general or cosmetic dentist. That is a personal option of what the patient feels most comfortable. Both providers can do an equally ample job in setup.

Some providers are able to take pictures and provide a 3d computer model of your mouth. They do this in planning the process, but also to show potential end results. If you can do this, study the results, they can be outstanding, but also a great way to make a decision to undertake this type of work.

The beauty with this method is the beauty. Most people see braces as unsightly. Internal cuts on the inside of the mouth, the discomfort, and special care can be a turn off. Many time you do not notice when the trays are in the mouth. Maybe speech is impacted slightly, but that is about it. Once you are used to them, people will really never notice.

So check with your regular dentist about Invisalign braces. They may be able to setup you up directly, or refer you to an excellent provider who can help. Check out the potential results, it can be outstanding. And remember braces do not have to be unsightly or uncomfortable!

    Tips on Using Invisalign Trays

Comply with Treatment Requirements – Self-discipline is crucial for getting the most out of your Invisalign treatment. While you may remove your aligners to eat or when brushing and flossing, you must wear your aligners for at least 20 hours, each day, throughout the duration of your treatment in order to achieve the desired results.

Maintain Good Oral Hygiene – Plaque and bacteria build up on your trays just as they do on your teeth. This not only makes the aligners become cloudy, but also increases your risk of developing cavities and gum disease. Brush your Invisialin trays with toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush every day and soak them once a week in denture cleaner to help keep them bacteria-free.
