But for anyone who is currently dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome or who may be in danger of carpal tunnel syndrome, these are a few things for you to start doing.

First of all, if you are dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome due to a job that requires you to type all the time, make sure your keyboard is set up in such a way that you do not have to bend your wrists upward to type. This can be very bad for your wrists, and it will not take long for it to begin to affect you.

If you start to experience pain or swelling in your wrists or hands, make sure you ice them regularly. Taking ibuprofen is another way for you to combat the swelling and the pain. The earlier you get started fighting it, the better shape you will be in.

You should also give your hands regular rest, if you work with them a lot. In so doing, you will allow your hands to avoid a constant barrage of repetitive movements.

Finally, you should think about getting a wrist brace for each wrist. There are plenty of these that are made specifically to combat carpal tunnel syndrome. While such braces can feel clunky at first, it does not take long to get used to them. What’s more, you will no longer be in pain!

Instead of waiting for carpal tunnel syndrome to set in before fighting it, fight it before it begins.
