Ten Ways To Work Your Abs

For many, the abs is one of the trouble areas in the body. For men, and some women, this is the first place where excess fat and energies are stored. Working your abs will not only strengthen your front muscles and help you to lose weight, but will also help if you are having problems with back pain. Following are ten major ways that you can work your abs.

1. Pilates. This is a growing and effective method that focuses on the core system. There is special attention that is given to working on the abs. By using breathing and small repetitive movements, it adds just enough stress to your abs section to begin to get rid of the excess fat.

2. Crunches. There are several different types of abs crunches that you can do. You simply lie on a mat and crunch your head to your knees. Variations of crunches will work different sections of your abs.

3. Weight Lifting. At any health club, there are several specific machines that can be used to work different areas of your abs. If you are unsure of what these are and how to use them, ask a personal trainer to help you. These will help by working the muscle and replacing and moving out the stored energy.

4. Work your back muscles. There are several exercises that focus on the back; however, these will affect the front as well. Weight training for the back, as well as simple exercises can be found to work both sides at once.

5. The exercise ball. You may have been seeing these more and more recently. They not only can help in doing crunches and sit-ups, but also stretch and support the back at the same time, making your exercises much more effective.

6. Aerobics and cardiovascular exercise. This always proves to help in losing the extra fat that is around your abdominal area. This can easily burn away stored fat in this area.

7. Holding In Your Stomach. This routine actually works in helping you to work your abs muscles. It does this because you are contracting your stomach, allowing for your muscles to work for you while you are doing your regular work routines.

8. Watch your diet. This includes not eating as many sugars, sodium and fattening foods.

9. Drink water. Having water available all the time, it will help to continuously keep substances moving through your system.

10. Stay focused and motivated. More than how much of the exercising you do, is how effectively you do them. This means concentrating on the routines while you are doing them, as well as continuing on your exercise routines until you see flatter abs.
