Simple Hair Care Tips

Hair Care without Appliances

Long before electricity
And curling irons and blow dryers
Were used to care for hair
Women still had beautiful coifs!

Wooden pegs for curlers,
A gentle toweling
Or a breeze from an opened window
For drying
Coconut oil for a sheen
Were routinely applied
As natural hair care.

Of course, helping hands
From sisters, aunts and mom
Made a big difference, too!

There are simple things to do to keep your hair healthy. There is a world of easy and affordable hair care solutions out there waiting for you to discover them.

To restore your hair’s condition and give it more strength, reduce the amount of time you use small appliances to style your hair. For example, those curling irons, rollers, and other appliances can really damage the hair more than strengthen it. While there are certain occasions when those tools are needed to create a special look, but most times why not give your hair a break and stay away from the heat. If you do have to blow dry, then protect hair follicles by using a styling serum or cream before you use heating tools. These serums and creams will protect your hair against the high heat being applied.

TIP! To keep your hair healthy and free from damage, avoid brushing it while it is wet. Wet hair can be more easily damaged than hair that is dry because it’s more fragile.

Think about improving your diet if you notice your hair looking dull. To get the healthiest hair possible, incorporate plenty of fatty acids, vitamin E, and iron into your diet. If you follow a certain dietary plan that does not contain the nutrients you need, talk to your doctor about supplements for hair health.

Another problem with using a blow-dryer is that its heat can make your hair frizzy. Instead, towel dry hair whenever possible. In this way, the hair can dry on its own without generating excess frizz.

Blow drying your hair can actually damage it. Avoid using a blow dryer to prevent your hair from being harmed by finding a different way to dry your hair – give it a few minutes to dry out naturally. In the shower, wash your hair first, letting it dry while you continue with the rest of you washing.

TIP! Restrict your use of heat styling tools so that your hair can remain strong. Items such as curling irons and blow dryers can really damage hair, making it harder to maintain.

You should not tug or rub your hair when toweling your hair dray. This can break the hair, resulting in frizzy and frayed hair. Squeeze water from your hair first, then gently blot the rest dry. Unless you actually use a wide-toothed comb, do not brush or comb your hair while it is wet. Instead use your fingers to help you untangle any knots in wet hair. This will help you to avoid damage caused by a brush.

Alcohol is an ingredient found in some hairdressing products. It can harm your hair by drying it out. This is not good for your hair’s health at all. Take a look at the back before bringing it to the counter.

Limit your exposure to the cold in fall and winter months. Cold weather may dry out hair and reduce nutrients and oils that are vital to your hair’s health. If you’ll be stuck outside for a while, carefully bundle up first.

If you colored your hair, remember to wait forty eight hours before using a shampoo. This delay is due to the fact that hair needs a decent amount of time to lock in the new color. Even having your hair wet could re-open the cuticle during those initial days. If you can be patient, you will be rewarded with healthier hair.

Always shampoo your hair with care, or you may just wash out your hair’s natural oils. If you have hair that is oily, do not use a harsh shampoo, this can make it worse! Use the gentlest shampoo you can! Some people also just use conditioner about one or two times every week.

So, now you know. By making a few small changes and trying a few new tricks, your tresses can be the envy of everyone you know. You will find that these tips are affordable and very easy to implement. Just remember that constant upkeep is the best way to go.
