CBD and My Personal Pain

Praising CBD

Here is my say
      in praise
      of CBD –
derived from one
      of the best plant helpers
on the planet –
      HEMP!

Despite past banning attempts
      by sickening cigarette companies,
the last few years have unstemmed
      with a renewed revival
this most valuable friend –
      we are furiously farming hemp.

A source of fiber for paper, clothes
      and building materials,
      food for from its seeds
      and medical CBD.

Significant suffering
      has now been relieved
by CBD –
      pains, anxiety, seizures,
and inflammation cooled
      and I must say
hurray, hurray, hurray.

What I write about today is my personal experience with using a CBD salve for pain.

CBD is a Cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive substance which, while extracted from cannabis or from hemp, does not cause a “high” like THC does. CBD is utilized for various health-related purposes – managing pain, lessening anxiety, and controlling certain types of seizures.

A few years ago I began to suffer from an ongoing pain in my left and right index fingers. Other fingers sometimes ached, but these two were consistently worse.

Perhaps it was from getting older, or perhaps, from pounding away at a computer keyboard for many years, the development of this kind of “aching bone pain” in my digits was a disappointment and nuisance. Along with the pain, the knuckle bones in the middle of each of the index fingers begun forming a bump, like some kind of bone spur. Also along with the the pain, my fingers were sometimes puffy or swollen and hard to close completely when making a fist.

I had read that CBD was g good for pain, especially when caused by inflammation. It seemed reasonable to me that it would help, at least, with the swelling.I looked at various CBD or Hemp salves on Amazon and picked one with reasonable reviews and price.

When the jar arrived I began using the salve on my fingers, gently rubbing it into the skin. After a couple of days, my pain diminished significantly! At first, I was fairly liberal with my applications, but I soon found just the right enough to keep my aches at bay. The swelling went down, and after a few months, I woke one day to find that the knuckle bumps had disappeared.

Nowadays, I tend to use just a little of my CBD salve once a day and no longer have to deal with achy fingers when working. I must point out, if I stop using the product for a few days, the pain does return. And sometimes I will apply the concoction more than once in a day. But generally, my concerns along with my digital discomforts have vanished.

I have used CBD for other occasional pain such in my my knees or for a toothache (salve is applied to the skin of the face above the tooth), as needed.

Of course, as said in the beginning, this is my own personal experience and should not be considered medical advice. You should talk with your health care provider about any ongoing pains you might have.

About the product I use: Medical Miracles Hemp 500 Mg Ultra Strength Healing Salve – said to be ideal for Hips, Joints, Neck, Back, Elbows, Fingers, Hands, and Knees. Please note that this is an affiliate link – I have been an Amazon affiliate for many years, long before I began using this particular CBD salve.
