Sleeping Your Way to Good health

Lack of sleep can compound various health problem. Lack of sleep leads to tiredness and lethargy making us less likely to fell like regular exercise. It can also mean sleeping late and skipping breakfast which may lead to snacking on foods that are dietary nightmares or overeating at lunchtime. The body rejuvenates during sleep time and the mind remains active as it processes the days events.

So sleeping can also affect how we feel within ourselves. Stress conditions and depression can be increased when a lack of sleep happens. Serious sleeplessness is called insomnia where people find it impossible to sleep for long periods of time and this cause havoc with their everyday lives. But there are natural ways to promote natural healthy sleep patterns.

Take a stroll before bed–No need to beat the land speed record here, a nice stroll around a large garden a relaxed evening walk will help the body and mind relax ready for sleep.

No stimulating substances–Caffeine and nicotine are a definite no-no. And if you do wake up during the night don’t reach for a smoke or get up for a coffee.

Drink relaxing herbal teas–Chamomile and mint help to relax.

Try and keep a good routine–going to bed at a regular time helps the body accept the ritual of getting ready to sleep.

However you go about teaching your body to sleep, use a variety of methods to get a good fit. Everybody is different.
