As per the latest report from the American Heart Association (AHA), there are more than 64 million people in the United States who are suffering from one or the other type of Cardiovascular Disease.

However, the good news is that there are several ways to reduce the chances of rising heart diseases and to even reverse your present heart condition. In order to have a healthy heart, it is essential to lower the levels of cholesterol, homocysteine and triglycerides in your body.

Here are 10 tips to keep your heart healthy and to minimize the chances of developing any type of heart diseases.

  1. Stop Smoking

One month before you quit smoking, make sure that you feed on a cup of nettle, sunflower seeds or infusion of oat straw on a daily basis. The benefit of taking sunflower seeds is that it helps in reducing nicotine craving in your body by satisfying the nicotine receptor sites. And, the affect of infusions is going to be the strengthening of the nerves and blood vessels so as to act as a cushion against the affects of withdrawal symptoms.

It has been found in studies that those who are touched lovingly on a daily basis have lesser chances of developing heart diseases.

  1. Beta-Carotenes

Make sure that you add beta-carotene rich food in your diet. They have been found to minimize the chance of a stroke by as much as 40%. The foods containing this nutrient are cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squash, apricots, dark leafy greens and seaweed.

  1. Seaweed

Seaweed has been found to normalize triglycerides, cholesterols, and phospholipids levels, even blood pressure and dissolving fatty deposits in the blood vessels. Seaweed has also been found to be useful in restoring the efficiency of your heart and extend heart muscle life.

There are several benefits associated with the consumption of garlic. This includes:
