Your Questions About Infrared Sauna Do They Work
October 1st, 2012 by health

Laura asks…

How does an infrared Heater work?

I saw an infrared heater ad on internet (usually for saunas) and am curious. How do they really work? Is it possible to build one on your own? Are they economical? Did anybody has any practical experience?

health answers:

There are different types of infrared heaters. Some are used at the zoo for example to keep young animals or birds warm.

Infrared heaters have long since been used in the industrial manufacturing process where high temperatures are needed, and the heating is needed fast and at specific areas. This is known as target heating.

Though Infrared heaters are theoretically 100% efficient, there are still factors that affect how they work. To ensure full efficiency, you have to make sure that the absorption spectrum of the product or material to be heated matches the emitted wavelength of the infrared heater.

I would not recommend trying to build your own infrared sauna unless you have real expertise in this area of construction.

Lizzie asks…

Does anyone use a Far infrared sauna? Has anyone found out any saunas that emit 100% fir heat?

I was just reading online that these burn 900 calories each time. Is this true? I do not see how this is possible in 30 minutes, when I don’t burn that much working out. But I am not sure. Please help me if you have any imput.

health answers:

It is quite possible that they do help you lose calories. Infrared Sauna‘s cause the cells within your body to begin vibrating (about 1 to 2 inches deep into your body). And this vibratng causes your cells to begin their cleansing process. The combination of additional energy that is needed to do this along with the rise in temperature causes your heart to beat faster and begins burning calories at a faster pace. Although 900 calories in on half hour seems to be an exaggeration to me.

Infrared Sauna‘s also help to lower blood pressure. Your skin feels and looks better and it helps rid the body of toxins. And you will find yourself feeling less stressed and more relaxed.

As far as finding a Sauna that emits 100% fir (far infrared) sauna heat, keep in mind that each sauna manufacturer makes all kinds of claims and many of these claims are simply that and nothing more. Rather than focusing on percentages, I would suggest finding an infrared sauna that meets your budget. All of them produce infrared heat and you will benefit from all the different technologies that produce infrared waves.
