A recent British Study Has shown that gel made from the Aloe Vera Plant may help people who are suffering from ulcers as well as people who have IBS.

While it may look like the spiky head of an alien fighter straight out of the world of Dragon ball Z, this plant that has been prized for centuries for its inner gels and their ability to bring soothing relief from the pain and discomfort of burns, scrapes, and cuts.

Aside from providing skin relief, Aloe is also a potent internal medicine capable of bringing your gastrointestinal tract back up to good working order, helping to cure everything from constipation to general malaise.

A Science research team from Queen Mary’s School in London has even found that Aloe Vera is useful in treating ulcers that have formed in the stomach and intestinal lining. Ulcers occur when the corrosive acids that digest your food began to eat away at your protective lining in the stomach or intestinal walls. Stress, bad dietary habits and certain drugs like NSAID anti-inflammatory drugs are known to cause these painful eruptions within your GI tract.

The British research team is especially excited in Aloe’s ability to prevent ulcers caused by NSAID’s and have found remarkable results in the lab. The Aloe gel was tested on a culture of gastric cells which were at the same concentration that they would in the stomach after taking a dose of NSAID anti-inflammatory drugs and was shown to boost the production of certain substances that help with the healing of ulcers within the gut.

This comes as no surprise to the people who have been using Aloe already as a virtual cure all for everything from acne to irritable bowel syndrome.

Speaking of IBS

Other research in Britain has shown that Aloe does show extreme potential and helping out with the difficult, yet benign condition, of IBS that affects millions of people worldwide.

Irritable bowel syndrome can creep up on a person suffering from it at any time and results in abdominal pain, discomfort, and bloating, intense periods of diarrhea as well as constipation.

Research at the Linus Pauling Institute has shown that partaking in aloe gel may help relieve IBS by helping increase the absorption of proteins during digestion and add more water to a person’s stool, which is one of the main ways to combat IBS.

While most people tend to use this miracle plant for exterior skin problems, when taken internally, Aloe Vera is an all natural way to help people correct issues with their intestinal tract including ulcers and IBS. Thus providing a great relief to people who suffer from these two painful and debilitating conditions.
