The Innards of a CT Machine – See How She Spins!
Sep 23rd, 2019 by Aldouspi

A CT Machine, which provides a CT or computed tomography scan, can reveal injuries and health problems invisible to health providers otherwise. They are miracle machines that, when in operation, have parts that spin at a fascinating speed. Check out the video to see what I mean.

I only know three things about CT machines: They’re loud, they’re expensive, and the images they produce can be useful to people far smarter than me. And after watching this, I now know they spin incredibly fast (considering how heavy the components inside appear to be).

According to the YouTube description this is a Canon Aquilion going at full speed with its cover off.

A technician was doing some small repairs on this CT and the hospital staff asked if they could take it for a spin while it’s cover plate was removed. Clearly balancing the weight distribution inside the machine is quite important!
