After the Workout – Recipes for Delicious Protein Recovery Drinks

Protein Recovery Drink

Are you working out harder than ever and realize you need to make some easy, yummy protein recovery drinks for after each workout? Is your body is screaming for nutrients after resistance training routines or cardio? You need a protein recovery drink to fuel your body.

You can buy delicious pre-made recovery drinks that are fortified with plenty of protein and other vitamins, or you can make one of the following protein recovery drinks at home.

One favorite drink to replenish your nutritional needs, is the coco monkey recovery drink.

This is a perfect blend of one full scoop chocolate protein powder, one cup of milk, one small banana, and one quarter cup chocolate ice cream. Guzzle this baby down for the right blend of protein (which will aid in muscle repair), potassium (which stops cramping), and enough calories to continue on with your day. You need to replenish some of the calories after a hard workout.

If you want to cut back on those calories after a workout, blend up the strawberry dream recovery drink.

Blend one scoop of vanilla protein powder, a half cup of frozen strawberries, and a cup of Trop 50 juice (half the calories). Slurp down that frosty, sweet-yet-low-cal protein drink, complete with vitamin C and protein. This drink comes out best, if you use a low sugar protein powder.

For a jet pack caffeine jolt, make yourself the mocha recovery drink.

Blend two tablespoons instant coffee granules or expresso powder with one cup of milk, one scoop of chocolate protein powder, and a half cup of ice chips. If you like a thicker, creamier drink, add in a cup of Greek yogurt (it comes in chocolate)–this will add another big dollop of protein.

Fill your pantry with protein powders, choosing by ingredient list, not by taste. You can easily transform any protein powder into a delicious shake by usigng the ingredients above or your imagination.
