What To Do When Your Temper Flares: Kid’s Guide to Overcoming Problems With Anger

What To Do When Your Temper Flares is another book in the What To Do When series by Dawn Hueber, PhD, Clinical Psychologist. It is written for pre-teens and talks about anger management and how not to lose your temper. Some kids suffer from uncontrollable outbursts of anger, which can cause many problems within a family and at school.

The book gives children the opportunity to understand their behavior, and with the help of the included illustrations, examples and self-help exercises, motivates them to control their temper and anger. I like the fact that this book isn't written in a patronizing manner. Instead, the author relates to the kids that she understands their emotions and feelings of anger, but letting them flare out of control is not an option.

I think that this book is a must read for kids (and their carers) whose anger outbursts causes so many problems for themselves and anybody around them that it makes it difficult to live a normal life.
