Zeo Personal Sleep Manager Review

Zeo Sleep Manager

We all know that sleep is important. We all know we probably don’t get the best amount of sleep. In fact, insufficient sleep is associated with obesity and being overweight.

Needless to say, I’m always trying to improve different areas of my health. Sleep is one of the areas I want to focus on. I feel like I get enough sleep, but I really hate waking up. I’m on a mission to get my sleep in gear.

Enter Zeo.

What is Zeo? Zeo is your personal sleep coach. Obviously, it’s not some little guy in way-too-short-and-tight-shorts hovering over your bed telling you how to sleep. Here’s what Zeo is made of:

  • A custom alarm clock that shows how you’re sleeping.
  • A headband that you wear at night.
  • An online coaching system that analyzes how you slept and the different factors that may be affecting your sleep.

All of these combined make a Zeo Sleep Manager a really interesting premise.

Zeo Can Lead To Better Sleep

A new sleep device, the Zeo Sleep Manager brings the science of a sleep lab to the bedroom. By measuring brainwaves while you sleep, Zeo tracks sleep stages so you can make lifestyle changes to improve both the quality and the quantity of your nighttime shuteye.

“The Zeo Sleep Manager is the ultimate sleep experiment: it takes the science of a sleep lab and puts it in your hands,” says Dave Dickinson, CEO of Zeo Inc.

To start off using the Zeo, you set up an online account and fill out a short questionnaire. The questionnaire looks for potential Sleep Stealer’s (as they call it) – things like too much caffeine, too much alcohol, bright bedroom, etc. and asks how you like to improve your sleep.

After the survey is finished, it’s time to start wearing the headband at bed to establish a baseline.

I admit, the first couple of nights it was VERY tough to get used to wearing the headband. In fact, I woke up the first two nights and I had taken it off in my sleep. Oops.

Today, was my first day to plug in the data and see some results. While I don’t have enough data to make any conclusions, the amount of data they have is incredible. The Zeo Sleep Manager even asks you, every morning, after you wake up, to give a score to how you feel (they call it “Morning Feel”).

Looking at my data, there was a night it appeared that I slept REALLY well, but my Morning Feel was very low. I’ll keep a close eye on to how I can make my Morning Feel rise, as that is what I struggle with the most.

Would I recommend the Zeo? Honestly, it’s too early to tell. So far, the premise looks like it could help me discover ways to sleep more efficiently, but that has yet to be seen…
